We are a brick and stonework family business
established in 1952, with clients that include Hampton Court, The Royal Tennis Courts, Marsh Court, Kew Palace and numerous other Historical, Private, Listed and National Trust Estates.
We have completed both major and minor contracts, developing, restoring and conserving estates, churches, private residences, chimneys, moat walls, bridges and culverts.
Our current projects include a 700-metre boundary wall for Basildon House in Pangbourne, the ongoing restoration of Hall Barn in Beaconsfield, and Sir Edwin Lutyen’s turn of the century masterpiece, Marsh Court, in Stafford. Future projects include the restoration of Queen Annes’s Summer House at The Vyne in Basingstoke.
Our core team have been with the company through apprenticeships, trade qualifications and extensive on-site and managerial training.
Sometimes when our work is least noticed, we have done our best. That may sound strange but when our build blends seamlessly into walls that are hundreds of years old and sometimes not even seen, it makes the battle against the elements, the cost and the time imposed, absolutely worthwhile.
Leaving a legacy with a story for the future is a compelling driving force for the team in 4R Building Ltd.
What WE work with

4R Building Limited

The real beauty of historic buildings is feeling, seeing and working with the materials worked so skilfully by men before us. It is testament to their creativity, knowledge and skills. Passing on those skills is as satisfying as presenting your finished piece to an architect or an owner knowing it will still be there in the future as long as it has been there in the past.
Ways to contact us.
We look forward to hearing from you.
