This is a 16^th Century country house near Sherbourne St John, visited by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in 1535. Also on display is an inscribed Roman ring with a lead tablet that mentions a curse on the one who stole it. This ring and its history is said to have inspired JRR Tolkein to write “The Lord of the Rings”.
